Correct. You won’t lose the seats. I’ve booked over 100 CX segments, mostly through AA, close-in tickets quickly, far out travel can take a few weeks to ticket. So far, OP has described absolutely nothing unusual.
Thanks for the reassurance! I’ll try to be patient and hope they ticket soon. I didn’t want to start planning my trip if there was a chance things would fall through with the ticketing, but I’ll go ahead and begin my trip research process.
