2019 was a great travel year for me. The second most miles I've ever flown in a year. I had three big trips: United's Pacific Island Hopper; Argentina for a total solar eclipse; and Nepal & Bhutan.
My 2019 overview
Total miles flown: 52352
New Airlines flown: Avianca, LATAM, ANA, Etihad, Yeti Airlines, Bhutan Airlines. Best airplane meal: ANA J.
Shortest Flight: PKR-KTM (91 mi)
Longest Flight: ORD-AUH (7271 mi)
New countries visited: 9 (Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Palau, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, UAE/Abu Dhabii, Nepal, Bhutan) (But also Colombia if you count a connection at BOG)
I think it's pretty cool that KTM was my second most visited airport (5 transits). But the first arrival there was also my worst airport experience as immigration took 2 hours.
Fun flying experiences: Seeing Mt. Everest out the airplane window, landing on atolls like MAJ, landing in PBH.
Points & Miles burned: 919,359 (primarily 372k AA, 175k UA, 274k HH) plus 4 free IHG night certificates.
