I stayed 2 nights just outside Obidos. I think Obidos is great during the morning and evening, before the buses arrive and after they leave and it worked out as a great base for visiting the surrounding area. Maybe it is a bit too far from Coimbra for your needs.
Thanks.
My sense was also that Evora would need to be a significantly better visit than Coimbra/Obidos to be worth the extra travel time. If not, we'll do the logical thing.
We're a traveling party of 4 and Uber XL quotes about 40€ ($12 each) and 30 minutes from Sintra to LIS so we'll probably try that.
My question is about traffic and how backed up LIS security (Schengen) is on a typical Tuesday morning. Could we leave at 10 or 10.30 for a 12.15 departure? We can leave earlier, and use the lounge.
Thanks for the tip about Obidos. I had thought of renting a car for a day trip (this would be on a Monday or Tuesday). Are the crowds basically 10-4 thing?Because we could plan to be there later in the afternoon and have dinner there before driving back to Coimbra. Any suggestions of nearby worthwhile stops and dining options you liked would be greatly appreciated.
I don't plan travel down to the nth degree, just transport and accommodation mostly, but I highly value fellow travelers' recommendations.
