I agree with you fully. I have never flown overseas on the 777, but the few domestic segments I have experienced certainly leads me to prefer it over the 767-300. Of course, DL squeezes 6 seats across in the BE cabin of a 767 while CO and AF have only 5 across.
But several years ago, DL cancelled its big 777 order when it could not come to an agreement with the pilots over compensation. Sadly, I thought at the time it was like cancelling the future... I still think that DL has a big equipment problem with a large fleet of 15+ year old international aircraft. I fear that the 777 days are numbered due to the very small fleet size.
