Does it make sense to accept the 30k SkyCoins they offered? From what I see I can only use them for flights ex JP which negates any value.
I couldn't say value of compensation itself.
But, ANA Sky Coins can be used for non-JP originating itinerary such as LAX-HND-LAX (must be ANA only) when you purchase it from ANA **Japan** web site.
But you have to pay in JPY. So, you have to take into account of foreign currency exchange cost. (original ex-LAX fare in USD is converted to JPY with ANA's rate, then your rest of payment which isn't covered by Sky coin will be converted to your credit card currency (e.g. USD).
