I never sleep well on planes and actually enjoy the long layovers with a room as I sleep comfortably. My usual route is on Korean air with Incheon layover where I opt for 12 hours instead of 2 hours.

I will be with a 4 year old, 10 month old and my wife or I would do a capsule.

To clarify, we are going to get a dayroom on the return trip and not an outside hotel, just realized that is likely why you asked the question. Definitely a hotel outside is not worth it.


I will update when I fly in January with how things went.
