I'd get a new ambassador. in terms of how big of an ask that is, letting your guests have access to a room a few hours before you arrive ranks behind asking for 3 bottles of free water in your room at checkin instead of 2 on the ole pulling strings-o-meter. they cant guarantee the hotel will accommodate you but they should have sent over a friendly email asking for assistance...
