I have only ever seen AA flights from the SAN commuter terminal going to LAX. I just checked the AA flight schedule and confirmed that there are no Santa Barbara flights. All go via LAX.

I, too, wish that AA still flew out of CLD. Rumour has it that AA withdrew from CLD abruptly, creating considerable ill will. The rumour continues that AA had recent interest in returning to CLD, but because it handled so poorly its exit, it is improbable that it will return.

I use one way car rentals on the rare occasion that I begin or end a trip at LAX. You can pick up and return Avis cars at CLD. I believe that Budget has an office at Holiday Inn Legoland, just off the freeway at Palomar Airport Road.

Since your company will pay for your parking at the airport, perhaps they will also pay for a car service to and from the airport. Torrey Pines Transportation is very reliable; you can reach them at 858-587-1184.

Welcome to the neighborhood!
