I have neglected to write a review of our July 2019 7 night stay (our 10th trip to CR) and still don't have time to write a proper review. I will chime in with my 2 cents though. We had read various reviews prior to arrival and I was a bit concerned about various changes. I think this particular stay was even more welcoming than the prior ones (if that's possible. Nearly everyone on the staff went out of their way. I really cannot fault anyone or any feature ... Having tried most of the villas (except Premier and Muraka), we opted for 2 SWV's (daughter etc was on trip too). The age of that villa doesn't bother me. What I don't care for is the cramped/small deck. With the jacuzzi on the deck (which I like) there is bare room for the 2 lounge chairs and umbrella. We stayed in a DWV on a prior trip and enjoyed that deck more because it was a bit more spacious but we opted for the SWV this time because of location.
We were apprehensive about staff having gone over to WA but pleasantly surprised to find the bulk of our staff friends still were at CR. Interestingly, a couple of members said that a few of the staff that moved over to WA wanted to return to CR (this was in July) ... take that for what it's worth but figure I should pass that along...I did not press for specific reasons.
When making reservations, I went back and forth ....initially in making reservations, I waffled .. CR, then changed to WA and then back to CR. Oneof my biggest concerns was that WA's lagoon and water "ahhhhh" could not begin to match CR's. There is something mesmerizing about the water at CR.
We will make a return in 2021 ...but only if it still is a Conrad property
