yes, friendly and welcoming doorman Stefan Laarman made our stay great, helped with requests like private boat ride, roses delivery, theatre tickets Carré, ordering a 14 person wedding cake, booking a visit to Gassan diamond and made great photos of us in the christmas decorated lobby - besides on other stays he remembers us and our preferences. Other friendly and capable persons are mrs. Lisa Suikers and her supervisor Esmée, they provide coffee on the go to drink in their onsite smoking room and are all assistance when i travelled with the elderly in tow
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Stay booked on points = executive room - became junior suite with minibar benefits and early check in - late check out
stay booked on ambassador certificate = junior suite became executive suite river view with all RA benefits
How are the rooms?
clean, bit old fashioned in decor but nice, bathroom has a tub that fills up fast!
can't beat the views, noise insulation was perfect
How is the exec. lounge?
no lounge
Did you receive a welcome gift?
champagne veuve cliquot brut plus another birthday cake besides the wedding cake
How was the minibar?
this is all inclusive for RA capped at 45eur per day
What was good and what was bad?

all RA benefits for paid and award stays, friendly young staff, free jars with sweets and christmas cookies in the lobby

breakfast is less in choice, gone are the raw chocolates, health foods and now we have those silly katari food items (also at Amstel brasserie) just because the hotel changed ownership from local to the state of Qatar (like the Parklane

)
