My experience has been that the boarding lines for FC at Heathrow are inconsistent. For example at Gates 1A and 1B which straddle the entry to the Terraces lounge in T4 there is only space for one line so you end up waiting in it. And my experience has been that the first vs club vs traveller tags make absolutely no difference in the unloading sequence when you get to the US so I wouldn't be to worried about what tag you get. It would be great if it worked but it usually doesn't.

And the Club Europe check-in desks are usually very efficient, I have always been able to walk up to a waiting attendant with no line.
