We are debating gifting him Silver or requesting regional upgrades. We have a number of flights coming up to LAX, SEA, YVR from JFK and the upgrade would be a nice a treat but I know they are not always the easiest to use. What are the pros and cons of him losing total status? Will that negative impact us for upgrades/etc when booked on the same PNR in the future? Appreciate your thoughts! Thanks!!
If you earned this PM status for the 2019 year (i.e. in 2018) and will lose PM status in Jan 2020...do not gift Silver as, not only is it worthless, but I believe it will expire as well in Jan 2020. Chose the miles or gift certificate and buy up a segment or two with FCM.
