Good Morning,
I am noticing intense use of image/pixel tracking through service emails lately, sometimes through non-secure domains and/or third-parties. My list of senders includes financial institutions, mobile service provider, ISP, airlines, online travel agents like Expedia and Orbitz. I regularly receive emails infested with tracking images that are sending unknown data to Orbitz and Expedia every time I open those emails. I consider the use of tracking pixels in service emails like these as unwanted, deliberately hidden to collect data, and unauthorized invasion in to my privacy.
I am aware of total image blocking from my email or using pixel blocking add-on in the browser, but an easier solution could have been the senders stopping this hideous practice. After three weeks of denial, complete indecision and inaction from the support team, I am redirected myself here.
Thank you.
How is this any different than using cookies? To be honest I didn't know image tracking was a thing, how do you know an email has tracking pixels?
What do you expect to happen from posting on FlyerTalk?
