This has been my experience as well; I have received two free nights on both 'third night free' and 'fourth night free' promotions.
The fine print of my most recent stay included these terms: "
Offer may be repeated during stay" (we received 2 free nights on a six night stay during a third night free promo) and "Limit one benefit package per room, per stay" (we received only one spa credit for the six-night stay).
