This was the most disappointing stay of the holiday. Having stayed at ALILA UBUD and ALILA ULUWATU, this property was nowhere near 5 star.
It was dreadfully bad.
Check in guy was really nice and welcoming, but from then on it was downhill:
the lady taking us to our suite said nothign for about 10 min and just gave us a piece of paper with benefits and left the room - most awkward interaction.
there was no service by pool/beach that would bring around water and sun cream
the turndown service took all dirty towels and didnt replenish clean ones
the turndown didnt take away the fruit eaten as part of welcome amenity
it took 35 min to deliver clean towel so i could shower in the morning
the breakfast was just buffet style with no table service, quality of items was rather poor. Selection of noodles was average, with no real meats (just fish/beef/chicken balls which I never eat). The fruit i tried was overripe and the pastries were not tasting like freshly baked, more like stale
staff rather clueless and illogical - there was no need to send turndown again once i was in the room...
despite a thorough search, we didnt find a safe in the room
beach was not swimable, barely ankles deep and quite dirty with seaweed
the buggy to take you around was the most disorganized enterprise and took ages to arrive
the manager said sorry, but didnt offer any way to make it up to us
I was glad we only booked one night here and was very happy to leave!
