CX F vs AA F is a big win. Hopefully you paid with a card that has baggage delay protection and you can do a little shopping spree when you get there.
Definitely a big win, though I had to wait standby at the CX checkin desk in TBIT until T-35 to be cleared. The flight was oversold in W and J, but (thankfully for me) a few folks misconnected, they op-up’d a few from J to F, and there was one F seat left. Had to be escorted through security to make boarding.
Unfortunately it was paid for on the Citi/AA Exec card which, AFAIK, has no delayed baggage insurance
. I’m hoping traveling on a full-fare J ticket (in F) and as a OWE will net me some sort of comp from the CX baggage desk at HKIA, though I’m not expecting anything. I’m continuing onto CNX with KA tomorrow and just hoping AA/CX gets my bag there within a day.
