Is that within a calendar year?

Yes, KL and Bangkok would be two excellent places. I'd also consider Phuket, the Hyatt Place there is potentially the cheapest one in the entire system. Regarding proximity to public transit, uber is insanely cheap in Malaysia and convenient, so I wouldn't consider the location in regards to public transit to be a factor. The airport ekspres to downtown from KLIA includes a free 10 MYR ride on grab which would be enough to get you to the Alila from the main station. You could also ride the light rail to it. Getting to the Hyatt House would likely be over the 10 MYR limit, but honestly if you take grab/uber from the airport all the way to the Hyatt House you're probably paying the same amount as the airport ekspres.
Are there cheap fares from any of the alliance members to Phuket? I know Grab is insanely cheap, but sometimes I can't get a ride. I wasn't able to get any vehicle from Grab when I arrived at KUL at about 2 AM in the morning. I was stuck and forced to take a taxi in Bangkok cuz every Grab driver was busy.

How do I use the 10MYR credit on Grab? Is there a light rail station next to the Alila? Sounds like you've been there before. You think it's worth going? Any tolls along the way from KUL to Hyatt House?

Guessing you mean Hyatt House. I have never stayed at either of these hotels (will be staying at the Alila in two months) but I would guess that the HH is a bit more secluded and a bit more "getaway" while the Alila is very much more a part of the city experience. It's well located to get to several more trafficked parts of town. That said, the Alila property is built in such a way that it does provide a sort of "getaway" feel on its own. HH, despite being a higher category, seems to always have lower prices too. Alila Bangsar is part of Hyatt Prive also, for what it's worth, though it does NOT include any hotel credit.
What's your status with Hyatt?
