There may be IFE for long range travel, but as has been mentioned, you're looking at several factors why a lot of the airlines aren't installing IFEs...

1) Weight
2) Space
3) Costs (shifts burden of screen costs and most maintenance to you)
4) Big Data (not mentioned, but does happen).

There's a reason why the airlines are pushing you to stream movies in their own apps...
