Lots of people work 30/30 rotations or 60/30 rotations so pass through DXB 8-12 times a year. A lot of these people still don't even get to Silver status if their employer normally buys them Savers. I know quite a few people in this predicament.

If you pass through 8-12 times a year and have long layovers, it may well be worth £300.

For instance MNL-LAD return (a fairly lengthy trip) only nets 3900 Skywards points. If you work 30/30 you will pass through DXB every month but remain Blue and collect 23,400 tier points annually.

As LAD only has one flight five times a week and MNL only has two dailys, the quickest route has a 4h 40min stop in DXB both directions.

I might pay £300 annually to avoid spending 48 hours a year walking around DXB killing time. The miniscule miles multiplier, prioritised check in and boarding and extra baggage would all be a bonus.
