AS connections don't come with lounge access for BA status if in economy, even if connecting to a premium cabin. However, AS F does give lounge access, etc. Not sure about priority security as I have TSA Pre. So it's worth it for the ground experience as well as the flight (where the difference is likely to be minimal), not forgetting the 20 tier points and a very small number of avios.
