My Experience - SFO -DEL -BOM

My experience with INT-DOM SFO-DEL-BOM (United- vistara) same ticket, bags checked to final destination (BOM)

Landed DEL in T3, had to go through immigration and customs in DEL. Immigration didn’t take much time and customs as well was smooth.
(since I did 2 unnecessary to-n-fro trips from baggage carousel, Make sure to pickup baggage cart before heading to baggage carousel. Also fragile tagged items come on different carousel, think common for all - it was near the place where I got the cart). As such I had enough layover time so didn’t have to hurry.

Domestic transfer took some time (time from customs to checkin counter). After customs took right for domestic transfer to see a small area. There was not much line with one security personnel checking passport- BP, however after that it was bit of snail pace movement to get into small elevator. With carts max 2-3 people/families could get into it at a time. Also same elevator was being used by airport personnel (mostly to come down from departures). The entry area to elevator also was small.

On departures floor went to vistara counter (far end) to checkin the bags (already tagged to final destination so had no issues, fragile item required going to another nearby security entry point instead of same checkin counter. Also the vistara personnel uses a notebook to make entry of the fragile item being handed over to baggage attendant/transporter person taking through security.

Went thru security, required removing belt, laptops, tablets etc however luckily didn’t have shoe removal hassles.

Vistara lounge didn’t allow business class person to bring a guest with Economy ticket so didn’t get to use it.
