looking forward to Phu Quoc - was researching that specific resort for sometime in 2020.
It is starting to get overbuilt with Chinese owned casinos, like many beach fronts in Asia (Sihanoukville anyone?). I stayed at the Isabella Resort about 15min by taxi north of the city last year, there is a small public beach and a cluster of bars/restaurants that are still relatively authentic.
