Surprisingly none have hit each other in Victoria though last year at least 2-3 dockings had to be cancelled due to strong winds.
My take is that these ships are too high (lots of "sail" area in a cross wind, enough to overcome the maneuvering propulsion capability of the azipods and bow thrusters) and have too much mass, and the cruise lines don't want to rely on (or rather, pay for) tug boats.
It used to be that all ships were pushed to and away from wharves by tug boats. Last time I had this happen was on a container ship. Quite memorable to be on a 1,200' ship turned around 180 degrees in a harbour channel not even twice that length.
