Let's see if I get this right: now I am comparing this to Quantas.

For BA Gold you need 2,400 points, which in Full C trans-atlantic seems to be 20 segments x 120 points.

To requalify, you need 1,700 points, or 15 segments.

For QF Platinum (Emerald), you need 1,400 points, which equals 14 segments at 100 points/segment,a nd then 1,200 to requalify or 12 segments.

I guess the benefits are comparable, although some have said that QF's award redemption schedule is favorable.

The ability to use AA Flagship lounges when traveling domestically in the US is also pretty good....

Then again, Diners usaully has the 2:1 BA promo...but all's silent on that front.
