My wife was just in Beijing this november with her T-Mo $50 add on.

Worked great everywhere on her iphone. Was able to facetime and browse the web like at home. She took advantage of tethering to bypass the Great firewall from her computer as well.
Honestly T-Mo reception is better in beijing than at home (with the high-speed add on).
