First, what's going on at SFO? Lots of cancellations (including some AS flights). It's actually at the top of the misery map on FlightAware.

My SFO-SEA flight tonight has been delayed from 9pm to 10pm, and then a few minutes later to 10:29pm. One other flight to SEA and two to PDX have been cancelled.

Usually they tell you that you are supposed to arrive at the airport in time for your flight's original departure, since they might reduce the delay. In this case, since they announced the delay so early (around noon) that seems unlikely. I'm checking a bag (this is just the first leg of a trip to India) -- my question is, is the bag drop deadline relative to the original departure time or the currently posted departure time? I really don't feel like showing up at SFO that early and spending my evening there.

I would switch to an earlier flight but they have zeroed out all the availability. And with a checked bag I can't stand by for a flight...
