Advise on complaint re building work
Hello!
I had a recent stay at the Ibis Styles Lisboa Centro Liberdade NE.
On arrival due to building work the access to reception was via scaffold steps due to work taking place, and one of the bars was closed for work. There was also some issues with our room - various fixtures coming off the wall etc. We hadn't been advised of the work taking place prior to arrival.
I raised this with a staff member asking should we have been told about the work - his reply was 'what do you think?'.
It was only a two night stay luckily and the hotel was in a reasonable location so we just made the best of it and didn't spend any time at the hotel apart from sleeping as a result.
I emailed Accor when we got back and also the hotel - I had a reply from the hotel manager to say I should have said something while I was there - so I reply and referred them to the original email where I said I had. No response since.
Any thoughts on how this can be escalated?
I feel strongly we should have been given advance notice of the work so we could have had the option of changing hotels before we arrived.
