Was this the renovated F cabin?
Thanks,
iluvdoco. I don't believe this was a refinished cabin, but the changes are so subtle that I could be mistaken.
Wow, an incredible report and photos. I would love to visit Japan - definitely is high on my list for trips.
Thank you for sharing!

Amazing to see mini-ChongL grow up so quickly, congrats on upcoming #2 too

Much appreciated,

What was the Japanese whisky on board? Hibiki 17?
Thank you,
ianassum. I think it was Hibiki Blender's Choice but I didn't ask. I think they did away with the 17 in F for a while now?

Have two (2.5 yo and 0.5 respectively) myself but unfortunately we were a bit overprotective and did the opposite of "starting them early" (at least for the toddler) and neither has set foot on a plane yet. Finally decided to get them started and have a couple of transpac flights lined up in early 2020 (after getting them some short domestic "practice" flights). Would love to pick your brain on some advice re: long-haul travel with young kiddos. Being from DTW we are tied entirely to Delta, and we mainly travel in D1. On Asian routes that's enclosed suites with doors, which probably won't sit well with our toddler who's a bit claustrophobic and prefers instead to cuddle with mommy. Any tip would be greatly appreciated!
I can let you know what worked for us so far, but I know every child is different. For the younger one, I'd say to nurse/feed during ascent/descent to help alleviate any discomfort due to the changing air pressure. I'm not sure if D1 has seats with bassinet, but if the infant can sleep in it, go for it. My little one would wake up as soon as he felt the bassinet, so it never quite worked for us. It'll be hard to yank the toddler away from mommy, but the Mrs. packs her bags with lots of snacks and small toys that don't make too much noise. A little bit of the cartoons on the IFE can distract for a little bit as well. If they start fussing and you're able to (not during taxi or seatbelt sign on), I used to take my kid to the galley or to the restroom to give him a change of environment, and to take the noise away from the rest of the cabin. The biggest thing is to stay patient, be mindful of disturbing others, and try to keep them comfortable, and it should be a good flight for all. These are all just my opinions, so you can adapt accordingly,
