I have a chronic cough (no, I am not and never have been a smoker). I'm sure that I sound horrible and the dry cabin air often makes it worse. I try to remember cough drops but sometimes forget. I appreciate when a fellow passenger, kindly!, offers a cough drop. I'm not trying to be loud; I hate my cough probably more than you do since I've had it for 30+ years.
I've been to more doctors than I can count and no one can figure it out. I've had more scans, tests, tried ever med. I blame it on being misdiagnosed for several months as a teen before a doc figured out that I had mycoplasma (aka walking pneumonia). I've had the cough ever since.
