Yes, I would agree. From my experience of "breakfast included" budget hotels the fair on offer is not on the expensive side. There is only so much bread and jam you can eat !

Where I think that the Ibis Styles was positioned in the market - at a price point normally above the Ibis Red, the USP was the breakfast. And it was priced in.

However, it is what it is, and when some hotels go the other way, such as 30€ pus for a breakfast on top of a 200€ room rate then you sometimes appreciate the slice of toast and change from 50€

It is the way it has been done - Ie tell everyone that the Ibis Styles IS breakfast included , and then devalue it, by charging 10€ or so per breakfast it just seems cheap.

Anyway Platinum status with Accor in APAC gives a free breakfast ( mostly ) as does Hilton Gold worldwide.

I am a fan of the Ibis range ( apart from the blue ) and will use them on long road trips to a destination. I now look carefully at the price of the room in both the Red and the Green to compare the rate with a breakfast, where as before it was an easier choice if there were two hotels close. My preference is for the Red as the bedding is normally better.
