I really started this thread to talk about mini-series, not a generic movie review thread ... but seeing as
yyznomad has opened the door to movies

....
A couple of weeks ago, I watched "
Maiden" while onboard. It's a movie, in the documentary section. I loved it.
From IMDB: "The story of Tracy Edwards, a 24-year-old cook on charter boats, who became the skipper of the first ever all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World Sailing Race in 1989"
If you like well done documentaries, that do more than just tell the story but also draw you into the characters, this is something to consider.
Maiden is the sailing version of "
In the Shadow of the Moon". It also had me shedding a tear at the end
