Vilnius was recently voted the cheapest European city break destination and well worth a visit. In addition to walking tours of Vilnius, a visit to the KGB Museum and walking around the self-proclaimed “Republic of Užupis” with its own constitution, I went on a day trip by local bus to Trakai, famous for its 14th century island castle.
I hope you tried the kibinai (similar to British cornish pasties) in Trakai!
Vilnius is far and away my favourite of all the Baltic capitals, so good to have this HGI as an alternative to places like the Crowne Plaza.
