Anyway, I am quite worried about a 1hr25 connection. I was planning on taking luggage but I suspect that is now a bad idea. Realistically is 1h25 enough? I have a US pp which may expedite my journey through immigration a bit, but still. I assume I need to reclear security within T8 but I have never done T8-T8 that I can recall. I'm arriving on a Thursday afternoon in January, is that a busy time? I have dinner plans in San Fran that I would rather change now if I am going to miss my flight. It is all one ticket so I am protected, but the next direct flight to SF is 1hr45 later and gets me there beyond a reasonable dinner time!

many thanks
You mention you have a US Passport, do you have Global Entry (GE)? If you have GE than I would not be very concerned about your connection time especially if you do not have checked luggage. Yes everyone has to re clear security after US arrival in order to connect to another flight. As you say you are also on one ticket and will be taken care of even if you dont make the connection.

Your profile notes you are a BA Gold (OneWorld Emerald) in which case you can use the Flagship First Check-in which is great and will lead you to the head of the TSA line (this is great even if you have TSA PreCheck because the agent will lead you even ahead of that line).

I would think if all is one time, you are hand bag only, have GE/PreCheck and use the Flagship Checkin then you will even have time for a decent shower in the Flagship lounge before your next flight.
