we had an amazing toddler who slept most of the way and stayed nice and quiet. He theorized that starting them early allows them to adapt better to traveling, and I wholeheartedly agree. An older gentleman in 1G who initially had an apprehensive look at the beginning of the flight also looked over at my son and smiled after seeing that he wasn't a bother. All in all, another great flight for mini-ChongL, and another flight in F that he won't remember.
I really like your trip reports on traveling with a toddler. Mini-ChongL is an amazing traveler! Have two (2.5 yo and 0.5 respectively) myself but unfortunately we were a bit overprotective and did the opposite of "starting them early" (at least for the toddler) and neither has set foot on a plane yet. Finally decided to get them started and have a couple of transpac flights lined up in early 2020 (after getting them some short domestic "practice" flights). Would love to pick your brain on some advice re: long-haul travel with young kiddos. Being from DTW we are tied entirely to Delta, and we mainly travel in D1. On Asian routes that's enclosed suites with doors, which probably won't sit well with our toddler who's a bit claustrophobic and prefers instead to cuddle with mommy. Any tip would be greatly appreciated!
