My ambassador replied saying that "platinum benefits are not transferable to guests" - does this mean my SNAs and early check-in / late check-out will not apply to them? If so, this will be very frustrating to manage...

How much later are you going to get there? What kind of property is it? Does it have a lounge?

First you need to apply your Suite Night awards on your account and get that approved. Plus request late checkout.

Myself personally day of the reservation I would call the hotel. If your suite night award wasn't approved ask. If the late night checkout wasn't approved ask.

After that explain that your guest will be arriving early. They will probably be allowed into their guest room early. Tell the front desk person to put your credit card down instead of theirs if you don't want theirs down. If it has a lounge they might be very strict. Meaning their cards may not work to get into the lounge. If there is a person in their asking for your room number for breakfast they may not be allowed in. It varies by property.

Usually when you call they will help you. Be nice don't be demanding.

Now if this is outside the USA this is a totally different story.
