Got to be honest, after a few nights at the Conrad and WA I was a bit underwhelmed staying here. It is obvious that the hotel is older and there was a noticeable difference in the staff. I guess the MH is your typical 4* Hilton property.
Although the room was recently refurbished, it was not done to the high standard of the Conrad of WA. It looked almost cheap. Yes, the views were amazing of the city, but that was about it. Everything else was a bit meh.
Breakfast was nice and had a decent selection, the pool area was not all that, and rather small.
To summarize between the 3 properties (Conrad, WA & MH);
If money is not an issue for you, or you have a free certificate then without question stay at the WA. You will not be disappointed.
The second choice would be the Conrad considering the comparable price point against the MH both for cash and points.
We stayed at the MH last week. It was our third stay of the year. We were upgraded to a panoramic river view suite prior to check in, which was appreciated. We traveled with another couple, also Diamond, and they upgraded them as well, although it was on the fifth floor. While I want to like this hotel, I really can't. The breakfast is the best benefit, food and atmosphere are nice, the rooms are really outdated and the color palate made me feel like I was in some midwestern town in the US, and certainly do not make you feel like you are in Thailand at all. We did get a nice welcome basket, which was not cleaned up the next day. The lounge is abysmal. It closes at 8pm sharp - why? when many people want to just sit and look at the view which is its best asset. The lounge staff is beyond unhelpful, food is awful and limited and it is just not an enjoyable experience. Then again what do I expect for less than 100 dollars. I do like the addition of Iconsiam next door as a destination and for restaurants but next time I will spend the extra money and stay elsewhere. We flew home via Doha, where the Hilton lounge had a rotating full dinner each night with the most helpful and friendly staff, a view over the Corniche and a lounge that closed at 10pm-
