Any recent updates on construction noise at the Westin or any other considerations for here vs. the Sheraton?

Have a stay coming up over NYE and was leaning toward the Sheraton due to better reviews in general with newer rooms and some reviewers suggesting that breakfast at the Sheraton is better, but having been to Melbourne once before I do think I would prefer the Westin location (at least in general -- not sure how that might vary for NYE itself, but that's only one night of the stay).

I was particularly hoping SNAs might clear into a real suite at the Sheraton, but it appears all suites are sold out for my dates now, so that is one benefit for the Sheraton that's likely gone unless there are a bunch of cancellations at the hotel in the next week or so. And it does look like the standard rooms are bigger at the Westin than the Sheraton, plus I am guessing that whatever construction noise may still exist would be lessened around the New Years holiday week. But welcome any other thoughts on the choice!
