I don't know exactly how the FICO algorithm works, but I highly doubt canceling my MPE is going to even move the needle that much. My usage on average, after canceling the MPE, would go from < 10% to < 10%, and I'm not sure if the algorithm even differentiates between such small changes. If it does, it's likely a few points, and why would I care about that when everything about about 740-760 is the same to lenders anyway? That's definitely NOT a good reason to keep paying an annual fee on a crappy card that you won't use.
My wife and I recently cancelled all of our UA cards and requested a reduction in credit limits on our all of our remaining Chase products to below 20K per card; our FICO scores decreased all of 3 points from 817 to 814.
