Before the merge, I remember the international flight numbers were more consistent. Such as even numbers for coming back to US. Odd numbers were for leaving US. These days, INTL flight numbers seem more random. Can't look at the flight number and determine if it is outbound or inbound. For example, two daily SFO-LHR flights. 901 and 930 are leaving for LHR. 900 and 929 are coming back to SFO. SFO-PEK is 888. EWR-PEK is 89. SFO-PVG flights have 857 and 891. LAX-PVG is 198.
