Interesting data point. My parents checked in for a flight and now that their PNR split, only one of them is showing on the list.
They were both showing on the list before check in so I called and they confirmed that they're both still on the list even though the flight status only shows one.

Kind of makes you wonder how many phantom people are on the list now!
