First of all, status with Marriott expires in February. This is to allow for any uncredited stays to post to your account.

Marriott has a history of soft-landing people. While I'm not sure if it's official policy, it has commonly occurred. Thus, while not guaranteed, you can reasonably expect to be soft-landed to Platinum.
