Maybe he's ill thinking of all the shoes you will be able to buy with the extra bag allowance
Ok will try to help but where to start?
OZ seems to be a good choice for frequent traveller that doesnt clock up huge mileage. AFAIK you will need to requalify every 3 years, although there are reports that the OZ cards dont have an expiry date so may be able to get the *G benefits when flying other *A carriers anyway?
Once you get status I am sure you will enjoy the free access to lounges!
One thing you dont seem to have considered is that almost all FFPs have membership based on each person - ie to get status one of you (or both) needs to pass the criteria without pooling between the two of you. The plus side is some of the status benefits (once you have *G for example) can be shared between you - eg say you have *G then you can bring Mr into the lounge as a guest.
The trips last Feb (04?) you may not be able to get credited anywhere as most FFPs have a limit of 6 months to apply for missing mileage credit. Given the amount it is worth trying but may already be too late
I'm not familiar with the BD double miles offer but check if it is double award miles only or double status miles also? If the latter then obviously that gives a great start to getting status on BD. If you havent already, take a look at
