Transfer to TP @ LHR on separate tickets with bags
After reading the other thread about TP's strictness with carry-on bags, I purchased a ticket for LHR-LIS to include a checked bag. However, I'm arriving LHR on BA (separate tickets) at T5 and I believe TP departs from T2. On my BA flight, I'll be carrying my bag onto the plane. When I make the connect at LHR from T5 to T2, I have a couple of questions:

1. Is there an ability to check in the bag at T2 airside?
2. Alternatively, if I've already paid for the ability to check a bag, can I take my chances and try to board with it? If I'm stopped at the gate, can I then give it to them to check but avoid any fee since I did pay for a checked bag?
