I have an upcoming seven-night stay with my wife and two kids booked on points and upgraded to a Grand Suite with a TSU. I was considering cancelling that reservation, booking a ~$240/night cash rate, and upgrading to a premium suite with 9,000 points/night. That would put us into the Grand Executive View Suite. Has anybody stayed in both room types? Is the premium suite THAT much better? It sure looks to be in the photos. I'm tempted, but it also seems a shame to forego "maximizing" a TSU on a seven-night stay.
If I were traveling alone, the Grand Suite would be fine. Otherwise, I'd prefer the Exec Suite. The main difference is the Exec Suite has a larger working area with a desk, and the room is considerably longer, more comfortable and has a grander entrance with some nicely done Chinese art. The biggest difference is the bathroom, where the Exec Suite has a considerably more luxurious one with a large bath (bubble baths aren't my cup of tea, but others may like them) with an almost panoramic view of the city.
