Got an unexpected email from BA today offering 15% off WT or WTP with a minimum spend of £300 or CW with a minimum spend of £1750.

This is for bookings by 29 Feb for travel by 19 November. This is flight only

This works quite well for my plans for next year in that I want to do a TP run in September to give me 25 months of silver.

Looking at pricing an ex INV run to California is out as it's under the minimum spend. LA in particular suits me for September as I can do baseball and hopefully NFL at the new stadium in Inglewood plus the beaches etc.

I can see on matrix that I can get EDI-LHR-JFK-LAX return in J for £1808 and after discount £1533. This is out Tuesday and back Wednesday

However when I try to do this as a multi city booking on the BA website the return LAX-JFK leg is defaulting to Y. Is there anyway I can get this all J whilst still being able to use the discount.

I appreciate that this is suboptimal in terms of a TP run but there would be no positioning required and a single protected ticket. Plus it's somewhere I want to go

Are there any other suggestions for maximising this or should I be hoping I can get it all J before 29 February.
