I've stayed at the Auditorium three or four times now and really enjoy the hotel. I have done this when flying out of other cities to the US. Flights to the US are in the morning and I don't like getting to the airport at 700am to make the connection so I take a flight to Madrid the night before and stay here. It works very well. A few things though. The shuttle to and from the airport, although free, is not very convenient. It runs every half hour and in the morning can be jam-packed. On my last trip, it was obvious we weren't all going to fit, so I took a cab. They really should increase the frequency of the shuttle service. I've been upgraded to suites, but actually prefer the regular rooms. The suites I've had have been in the front of the hotel, near the highway and I can hear the traffic. The rooms in the back are very quiet. The lounge is very nice. The jamon is quite good quality and they do omelettes in the morning in addition to the other breakfast offerings like Spanish tortilla. Last few times, I've arrived at the hotel around 3:00pm. After check-in, I take an Uber downtown. It is quite fast and cheap. I can spend several hours there shopping and seeing some sites and Uber back. For a morning flight the next day, it is very convenient.
