After much umm-ing, ahh-ing, reviewing forums/threads, Youtube videos, some Instagram stalking, days of agonising - I decided to pull the plug on my Conrad Maldives redemption for March 2020 (would have been my second stay) and change to a Waldorf Astoria Maldives redemption. The only availability for WA and trying to avoid the off season ''bad weather'' was October.
The allure of something newer and shinier outweighed the eye watering (to the point of dehydration) prices. I enjoyed my time at the Conrad Maldives when I was there (Having also been to 4S), but watching videos on the Waldorf Astoria and then comparing it to the Conrad, my FOMO flared and I started having premonitions of feeling regret whilst at the Conrad.
This is my last chunk of HH points and my last year of gold status - so why not go out with a bang.
It seems like there isn't much redemption availability.
I managed to get a King Beach Villa with pool for Oct 26 to 31 (5th night free). I did this last week. Looked again today and there are no more redemptions available for that time frame.
