Thanks - it has been allowed by BA because of the illness of an immediate family member. The ticket was originally booked through BA.com. We will call BA when we are ready to make the changes but my understanding was that it is only possible to the extent it is available on BA.com. It sounds like you are saying different inventory is often available on the phone so will call and see what they say.
