OK I am super confused....

As we all know that a free night coupon comes with the ambassador "blue box" for use at intercontinental hotels...

I "thought" I read some where in this board that the above mentioned coupon was a buy 1 get 1 free night....The paid night did have to be on a weekend.

The reason I pose this question....On the back of my certificate under T&C it says the following & I quote

This certificate must e presented at check in & is valid for use with a minimum two night weekend stay (friday/saturday or saturday/sunday) when redeemed at any IncerContinental hotel or resort prior to the expiry date printed below. This certificate is valid for accommodation only, is not rtasferable & cannot be combined with any other promotion/certificate. Onl one certificate per stay. Certificates cannot be replaced if list or stolen and the expiry date cannot be extended. Certificatd cannot be redeemed for cash.


My question is the part that is bolded....to obtain the 1 free night, do you have to stay 1 night, meaning is it as I thought it was, buy 1 get 1 free night....or is it as the T&C says (please say no to this) that I have to stay 2 nights to obtain the free night....
