I think since you land early, you might want to try to beat the traffic and get some rest, so get to the downtown hotel first. If you stay at the airport hotel, you might get stuck in traffic later in the day and then be late for your engagement.

yes Grab is available. I think you could go for the premium option as it's not that expensive.

Thanks for the advice. Is Grab popular in Manila? Just wondering how viable the option is. Given the lack of time, I'll need to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. I might even need to take taxi even though I'm in record saying I hate taking taxis.

Since you seem to know a bit about Manila, you got any advice on where to stay in Downtown Manila? I got status with several western chains. I might email them and see if I can get one night with the hours that I have.
